Former Cream bassist/singer receives liver transplant
Jack Bruce is recovering after a near fatal liver transplant. Bruce, 60, was diagnosed with liver cancer over the summer and underwent surgery on September 19th. His body rejected the new organ, infection set in and he suffered kidney failure. After remaining critical for weeks, Bruce stabilized and is expected to make a full recovery.
"The whole family is relieved that Jack will be with us for many years," a statement from Bruce's family read. "And obviously we are looking forward to more new songs, concerts and records to come." The former singer/bassist for Sixties British rock legends Cream released a new album, More Jack Than God, just days before his surgery.
