The Warren Report has never been impeached, yet conspiracy theories persist, nay thrive, after 40 years. It's fair to ask why.
The most important reason remains the factor that spawned wild speculation in the first place, namely, the murder of Lee Harvey Oswald two days after the Kennedy assassination by a self-appointed vigilante named Jack Ruby. The assassination was a horrific act, yet one that the American public would have eventually come to terms with had Oswald -- a politicized sociopath, akin to Timothy McVeigh -- ever received his day in court.( Read more...Collapse )
